Facet is a menu bar app for macOS that pairs with a TimeFlip2 tracker. Give each of the cube's twelve faces a category, then put the cube down on the face you are working on. The timer follows the cube, so there is no timer to remember to start and none to remember to stop.
What it does
- Follows the cube. Turning it ends one stretch of time and begins the next, over Bluetooth, without touching the Mac.
- Sits in the menu bar. What is running now, and how long it has been running, without a window open.
- Reports by day or range. Totals per category, and every individual stretch underneath, from your own daily reset time rather than from midnight.
- Keeps your history on your Mac. A plain SQLite database in your own Application Support folder, which you can read with any tool that opens one.
- Optionally writes to Google Calendar. Off unless you turn it on, and covered in the privacy policy.
Where it is up to
Facet is in development and there is no public release yet. This page exists so that the parts which need a home on the web, chiefly the privacy policy, have one. There is nothing to download here today.
